We are delighted to invite you to a comprehensive workshop and seminar to develop, discuss and share insights for the further development of wind energy. The VIV Symposium will take place on 6 and 7 June 2024 in Bochum.
The Institute of Wind Engineering and Fluid Mechanics at the Ruhr University Bochum, together with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, supported by the German Research Foundation (project number: 493357786), is organising the symposium, which brings together scientists, specialists and experts from industry and provides a platform for the exchange of knowledge on vortex-induced vibrations, bluff-body aerodynamics, interference galloping on wind turbine support structures and the associated standardisation.
Key information:
Topics:
Aeroelasticity
Vortex-Induced Vibration on slender towers (1st and 2nd Mode)
Field measurements for VIV
Interference effects in tower groups
Standards and codification, e.g., Eurocode, CICIND, IEC 61400-6
Agenda Highlights:
